Different criminal dramas and bizarre bail bonds stories have been identified with Las Vegas. Even though the city is popularly called “Sin City,” most of the headlines there are hard to believe. Stories like the arrest of a bondsman in connection with an attempted murder plot, an online gambling tycoon, and a doctor accused of masturbating in a casino all made headlines a few years back.
A well recognized former bail bondsman, who was released from jail after serving time for aiding to commit a crime and battery with bodily harm, ran to be a sheriff of Clark County. The Las Vegas ex-bail bondsman was held in Clark County jail, after pleading guilty to an incident related to a plot to harm a former bail bond company owner.
A former processing tycoon was also arrested on the charges of money laundering in connection with his previous online gambling business. He was granted bail after appearing at a bail hearing in Las Vegas. Unfortunately, he still went back to the Las Vegas jail because a New York court displeased with the previous bail hearing ruled that he must stay incarcerated during the trial.
A medical doctor was arrested for allegedly masturbating in the presence of three female college students while in a strip casino elevator. While the doctor’s action was strange, the drama that followed even made the event more outrageous. The doctor was freed on a fine of #1000 bond, but was arrested again in Arizona in what authorities claimed was a plan to intimidate witnesses of the elevator incident. After it was learned the doctor was possibly in Arizona to commit arson, the court revoked the doctor’s bail and he was left in jail.
